We invite you to participate in our annual summer art exhibition Start Your Collection!

This is our third annual event. Last year was successful for both artists and collectors and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever. Running over 8 weeks, the show encourages collectors to begin or extend their contemporary art collection. All works have a maximum price of £200 (exclusive of any framing costs).

This mini-fair is a great opportunity for you to take part in a widely publicised gathering of contemporary art and to expand your own collector base.

For new or existing collectors it will be a chance for them to acquire something with unique and lasting value.

We invite you to submit:

*   Your highly collectable artwork; things small and personal that you love. It would be great, but not required, if you make something specifically for the show (let us know if that is the case so we can feature that in the publicity).

*   In our experience, small paintings, drawings, watercolours, limited edition prints and sculptures have been popular. Any medium is allowed, but there is a size restriction of 50 x 50 cm; A4 or smaller is ideal. If you have any questions about suitability, please get in contact with us and we can advise.

*   1-4 works (works will be displayed on a rotating basis, and buyers may collect works from the gallery at the time of purchase).

*   Framed or unframed work. (We hang unframed work in plastic covers).

*   Work that you are willing to sell for a maximum price of £200, exclusive of actual framing costs. (that is, if the frame costs £240, you can put a price of £200+£40 for the frame). We will deduct a 25% commission, which will go towards supporting the ongoing activities of the gallery.

We recognise this may be outside of your normal selling price range, but we hope that you will be persuaded to join in as your participation will generate new enthusiasm for contemporary art and will bring new collectors into the mix. In the past, several artists have submitted a few pieces that were below their normal selling price which also created excitement for collectors.

We will have a collectors’ preview prior to the public opening and an artists’ closing party on the last day of the exhibition. As a thank you to participating artists and to help you add to your collection, we will waive our commission at the artists’ party. We will be getting back with full submission instructions and private view details to participating artists closer to the time.
